Job details
The Department of Infrastructure in the Western Cape Government is looking for four Assistant Directors in Acquisition and Contract Management.
Requirements:
- A 3-year B Degree/Advanced Diploma or higher
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Audit
- Working knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements
- Competencies in Planning and organizing, Problem-solving, Project management, Conflict Resolution, Communication, and Information management, Team membership, and Decision-making
- Skills in Communication (written and verbal) and Negotiations
Duties:
- Knowledge of public sector procurement: Bidding, SCM committee system, quotation procurement, emergency procurement, and petty cash procurement
- Manage forms of specialized procurement (consultants, IT, infrastructure/construction, roster, list of selected suppliers)
- Facilitate, renew, extend, and cancel contracts
- Process contract amendments and handle contract breach/disputes
- Administer contract negotiations
- Monitor and report on contracts and contractor performance
